The Innovative Family Room
Is has been said that the term "family room"
came from the Eichler design camp. His tracts were among
the first to create a living space where the kitchen and
a recreational space were open to each other. A mother
could perform her household tasks while keeping a close
eye on children's activities. In some homes, the family
room is used as a semi-formal dinning room, which allows
more space in the living room, which was a living/dining
combo.
The cooking area countertop was designed at a lower height
which is not only more ergonomically correct, but it also
